Recognizing Bravery in Action: A Celebration of Courage and Leadership




Beth Caldwell, Executive Director of Pittsburgh Professional Women, has been honored with the 2024 Bravery in Action Award by the Brave Women Project. Beth also received the prestigious Educate Pillar Award, recognizing her tireless efforts to empower and inspire women through education and leadership.





The Brave Women Project is a dynamic community fostering growth, kindness, and radical bravery among women. Founded by Holly McIlwain, it uplifts women through the 5 Es for Life—Engage, Encourage, Empower, Educate, and Evolve—transforming lives across professional, relational, and wellness spheres.

During her acceptance speech, Beth talked about how each pillar paved her own path and that these five pillars are not just words—they are the very foundation of who we are as women who aspire to make a difference. She then said:

"Thank you for this incredible honor. May we continue to be pillars for one another and the next generation of brave women who follow in our footsteps."





The awards ceremony on November 15 at Sheraton Station Square celebrated these exceptional women for their courage, strength, and dedication to creating positive change. Each honoree exemplifies what it means to take bold action, overcome challenges, and lead with heart.
